To store a petrol lighter long-term, empty the fuel and clean the wick and surrounding area after use. Old fuel can damage rubber seals and metal components.
When storing the lighter, keep it in a dry place and close the cap tightly to block air and moisture. The KNNOX lighter’s screw cap has excellent sealing, but placing it in a small bag or box offers even more protection.
During long-term storage, take the lighter out at least once every few months to check its condition. Make sure the wick is dry and the flint hasn’t seized. Refill with a small amount of fuel if needed and test the ignition.
Also avoid exposing your lighter to extreme heat or cold. Do not leave it in a car or near a heater; keep it in a drawer or shelf away from direct sunlight.
